Lewis Hamilton zeigte große Erfahrung und Entschlossenheit. Er startete von Platz sieben, arbeitete sich aber mithilfe einer effektiven Strategie und eines konstanten Tempos in der Gesamtwertung nach vorn. Trotz einer Strafe im Qualifying und Schwierigkeiten beim Überholen auf der Strecke von Monaco erreichte er den fünften Platz und sicherte dem Team wichtige Punkte.
